This Aoudad Sheep from South Texas was taken by Ian Dieter.  Tim is still working as we speak with the face details, moving skin around and positioning hooves.

Going to be a long even for Tim.

Swordfish Bill

Here is a pen and ink rendering.  The bill had to first be degreased and prepared to remove all fish oils.  It was then airbrushed and then handrawn.  All work was done by Tim.

Tahr

We mounted this Tahr from New Zealand this week for Bill Phillips Sr..  This Tahr along with other pieces will be on display at the upcoming Eastern Chapter Wild Sheep Foundation the weekend of February 16th in Lancaster, PA.

Brian Mounted First Deer by Himself - One of his Best

The time had come for Brian to be able to mount a shoulder mount deer on his own.  Last Saturday was spent doing just them.  Brian mounted one of his best bucks while Tim mounted one of his own.  They worked step by step.  Brian pretty much knew all the steps but had never done one from start to finish on his own.  He did a great job.

Here are some photos taken throughout the day.

Here is Tim's deer that he mounted.

Here is Brian's deer mounted.  Just let it dry now to start finish work:

Here is Tim's deer mounted, also drying to do finish work later:

At the end of the day we had a little surprise for Leslie & Brian.  Brooke, Donna, and myself (Jennifer) are not going to be able to make it to her baby shower due to having two shows the same weekend.  As much as we would like to be there it just wasn't going to work.  We wanted to do something special for them so Donna, Donald, Tim, Brooke & Myself had a surprise baby shower for them. As far as Brian & Leslie knew we were just going to have a fire and food.  Leslie even brought cupcakes to her own shower.

When asked what size piece of cake Brooke would like this is what she did :
Congratulations again, Leslie & Brian.  We can't wait to hold Baby "B" in April.

Busted Up Turkey

Here was a good test for Brian mounting his first turkey alone. This bird had excellent feather quality but the shield feathers were totally shot off.

Here is a look at the beginning of the process:

Here is a picture of the shield that is missing all the feathers:

Here is a shield we are using for a replacement from a spare bird:

Brian had to cut out the old skin in order to place the new shield:

Here Brian is putting the replacement shield in:

Here is a picture of the bird after the patch has been completed and the back feathers have been preened:

Brian did an excellent job with this turkey.  Putting the patch in the shield made this a very nice full strut mount that the customer will be very happy with.

Baboon

We mounted this Baboon last week for Mark Southard.  There was a good bit of form alternation and a lot of sewing.  We will show pictures of the finished product later.  It will be on a wall hanging rock.

Tundra Swan

Here are pictures of a Tundra Swan that we have mounted for Bill Dickerson.
