Spent the day cleaning up roads to get to my hunting spots

So I decided this weekend that I needed to take some time to open up the roads that I use in the woods to get to my different hunting spots.  We did this Sunday morning.  In the afternoon we went to go put up a ladder stand.  It was pretty amazing.  My dad and mom came up so my dad could help with the stand.  My mom saw a deer run about 60 yds from us.  Needless to say Brooke was not being quiet at all.  She was excited to see the deer.  It was two yearlings.  The one ended up coming about 10 yds from us, even with Brooke talking to it.  Guess they knew we were not in camo so we were safe.

Look straight back to the left of Brooke and you can see the one deer.

Couldn't get a picture of it at 10 yds because it was starting to really look to figure out what we were doing.

First deer down with her Mathews Passion

So my wife was able to go out last evening.  She got busted by a 4pt early in the evening.  At 6:00 I got the call that she shot a doe.  She had 3 fawns come in and then the doe.  The shot was about 16 yrds and could not have been better.  I went up on the 4wheeler with Brooke so we could start tracking.  She never heard it crash so I wasn't sure what kind of shot she made even though she felt confident.  We walked up to her arrow and this is what we found
We did not have much blood but we spotted her only about 45 yds from where she was shot.

Lots of wild mushrooms growing out in the woods as well as in yards.  Found these milk brooks last evening.  They will be hitting the frying pan tonight.

Went and checked the camera

So my little girl went with me this morning to pull the card in my camera, only to find out that the batteries were dead.  So I didn't have any pics but Brooke did bring a bag with her to hunt some mushrooms and that we did....
