Congratulations to Justin

Justin went out this morning for Youth Day.  He went out early with Uncle Tim and was able to take a doe.

Decided Aunt Jennifer was going to take him out later.....so we made some breakfast and Justin and Aunt Jennifer headed out.  This time instead of sitting in a stand we decided to pick a tree to sit against.  We were only sitting for about 30 mins and a nice doe came thru about 30 yds out in front of us.  Justin decided he was going to shoot but she started coming closer to us and wasn't stopping.  She then stepped out from behind the trees and Justin took the shot.  She only ran about 60 yds and we watched her crash.

Way to go Justin.

Tim's 8 PT

Tim went out this morning and was able to take this 8PT.  First time we both have been able to each take a buck the same weekend.  Thank you again Brooke for our photos..:)

8 PT

Went out yesterday evening.  Saw 2 little ones and heard turkeys......30 seconds after hearing the turkey this boy came through the woods.  He was 15 yds out and I was able to pull it off.  I shot him with my father-n-laws Wicked Ridge Crossbow as I have not shot my compound much since having my shoulder done in September.  As soon as I shot I called Tim.  I was certain I heard him crash but I waited 20 minutes (which seemed like forever) and got down.  Tim and our little girl came up to meet me. I called Pop Pop (father-n-law) also so he could help get him on 4wheeler.   I found him about 80 yds from where I shot.  He is a nice mature mountain deer.  Brooke did a great job with the photos.

Brooke's First Competition Entry

So we posted pictures back in July of Brooke painting her reproduction Sea Turtle.  She entered the turtle in the youth division of the MTA competition.  She received a 1st place blue ribbon within that category.  She then entered it in the North Carolina Taxidermy Competition.  She won a few different awards at that competition.  She won 1st place blue ribbon and Most Promising Youth Award as well as Starfish Award.  We are so proud of our little girl.

My Deer

My hubby got my 10 pt mounted from last season......he did such a awesome job. This mount is 100% competition quality.  He took it to the MTA show and won special award with it.  We then went to North Carolina for a competition where he took special awards with it as well.
