Brooke's First Entry in Taxidermy Competition

We are so proud of Brooke.  Daddy is entering a piece for the first time in 4 years.  Brian is entering a deer for the first time and Brooke has decided to make an entry into the Wildlife Art category.  She decided which half cast she wanted to paint.  She choose Sunfish because she has lots of experience with them and knew the colors to use.  She started her project yesterday.  She took her time and really concentrated.  She definitly has Daddy's skills when it comes to art.

She has more work to do this evening.  Put some gloss on the fish and do her habitat on her canvas.  She has come up with the idea of what to put on her canvas.  We are so proud of her doing an awesome job painting.  We were afraid it would not even look like a Sunfish.   Maybe she can enter this in the fair this year as well.

More Competition

Tim is mounting a deer as well for the Maryland Taxidermist Association competition.  This will be the first deer he has entered into a competition for 4 years in the Master's division.  The deer he has mounted is one that he got during the 2012 shotgun season as well.  This deer is open mouth which has a lot of detail.

Here are some pics of the process thus far.

Our little girl will be entering her first piece into competition.  She will be entering into the Wildlife Art catagory.  She will be starting her project this weekend.  She is very excited.  Will post pics once she starts.

Competition Time

Brian is working on his first competition Whitetail for the Maryland Taxidermist Association Competition held in Hagerstown next weekend.  He has spent early mornings, before his normal work day starts and spent last Saturday mounting his deer.  This is a whitetail that Brian shot 2nd Saturday of the 2012 shotgun season.

We are very proud of Brian for doing a competition whitetail and know he will learn a lot from this experience.
